More for the wall.

As I wrote in a previous post we have recently moved house into the country an I want to keep the kitchen/living area country style so I have printed these four pictures 12"x16" framed 20"x16" for the wall. They were taken a few years ago at a hay making festival shot in RAW processed in Lightroom and finished in CS4.
Comments welcome.

Turning the hay.

Gathering the hay.

Loading the hay.

Going home.

Just to finish these are the two cottages next door. They were built in the late 1800's to house the workers for a nearby water powered flax mill at the river there were originally about a dozen but are all long gone. These are the last two and were lived in up to about 1992. The mill closed in the 1940's

Re: More for the wall.

Those wall shots are nice - great scene for the haymaking with the castle in them.

The cottages next door look a little worse for wear!

Re: More for the wall.

Beautiful captures of traditional haymaking, very nice results.

The cottage shows just how long it takes for nature to claim back dereliction. Personally, I would only have preferred a shot from a different position round the cart in "Loading the hay" - seems a pity to see the back of someone so prominent in the picture, but nevertheless it defines the moment.

Re: More for the wall.

Wish you happiness in your new house. It's great that we can take our own pictures and bring our views of the world closer to warm our homes. These pictures are so clear and colorful, I like the 2nd one more then the first because of the blue skys but both are tops.
