#2 son
Meet James, or Jums as he is known. I managed to catch him gazing out the window, god only knows what he was thinking about.
This final image is just a result of experimenting with PP techniques, combining different layers and using the High Pass sharpening technique. The grainy effect is deliberate, I upped the ISO for that to get a different look. I realise it's blown out in a couple of places but I don't mind that. The eyes are not quite in balance but I'd be keen to hear your thoughts. D200 + 17-55mm. As you can see he inherits his good looks from his Dad.

I think this just works. I'm sure that even though you have spent a lot of time on the post processing, the actual shot was probably grabbed, and you have got the DoF and the crop spot-on. I think you have probably got the effect you wanted, and the deep shadows v the highlights do work well. I do like the almost sepia toned effect, but I also think this would work in mono too. |

Re: #2 son
Looks great! Apart from the curtains - redecorate...... or maybe just rotate to make 'em hang properly!
