Re: Acrobat
That is different
. I am not sure if I like it as a "picture" but as a natural history record shot it is amazing. How do you get these very close images. I assume that they are not taken in the wild but under studio conditions ?? If so how do you get the animals to "pose" for you. For example that head on damselfly shot of yours. I find it difficult to get within a meter or so of these and do not see how you could have got that near to a live one in the field. I want to try some inscect macro photography later this years so any advice would be most welcome.

Re: Acrobat
Anthraquinone my studio is outdoor - wild life
. of course i don't have any studio. i'm usin Raynox DCR-250 macro lens with my Fuji FinePix 9500. you have to be like 20cm from your model. when using diffuser with flash light background stays black if there is nothing just behind your main object. now - for damselflies, if you want them to stay where they are, go early morning, like 5:00, they are still too cold to fly waiting for sun to worm them up. for any other insects - you just need to be patient. sometimes i'm spending 30-40 mins running after one butterflie. with spiders - like this one, misumena vatia, they are staing in one place for a long time waiting for the pray so it's easy.

Re: Acrobat
Oh good
![]() This has come at just the right time for me. I want to replace a Canon S2 IS that has broken and am wondering what to get, I was thinking about the S5 but that does not have a screw thread on the front. I will have a look at what else is available at In Focus on Wednesday. |
