Re: After The Storm
Would really prefer to have just a touch of detail in all that black but I must admit that the sky really does carry it all off as is! Nicely controlled exposure and like the 1/3rd proportions!
Needs to be smaller - not just for site, but also to display comfortably (well, on most screens!) |

Re: After The Storm
OK! Many thanks for resizing - now displayed your 800px version
There is a quality drop with size although 800px @ 200k will give a pretty good overall quality. You have downsized the width but haven't compensated by added back more data to make it up to 200k (yours is 68k) which would help |

Re: After The Storm
i think the sky is fantastic , as for black as already mentioned the sky draws all attention so not really issue. Definately captures the viewers eye

Re: After The Storm
Very nice first post. The black FG does not bother me, in fact, I think it helps balance the sky and adds drama. Really like that "hump" in the center - it makes the shot. Well done.

Re: After The Storm
I guess I like the image enough but it stands out a bit too much as a 'fake'. I don't mean you're wrong to do the mirror thing, not at all. I just mean that it is worth spending a little more time to just clone copy the odd bit here and there to make very minor changes so that the two sides are not exact mirror images of each other. This wouldn't spoil the effect you are trying to get, I think it would enhance it as it would look more natural.
Nice idea, plenty of scope for more practice with it. Cheers, Rob
