Re: Amy
New background is good.
But quite honestly, David, all of your pictures are beginning to look and feel the same. Same lighting, similar poses, drop dead beautiful models and the same emotional impact on the viewer. It seems like a lot of your models are very detached, not communicating with the camera. ( Did they all go to the same modeling school there? That is said only half in jest.)Perhaps one good thing about that is that you could make a series of the best shots from all of your models and produce a really great set. skip |

Re: Amy
have to agree with Skip, its not a negative but from our point of view ( the viewer) it leaves us saying the same thing over and over again. am looking forward to seeing the outdoor shots!
ohh love the background by the way!. I would love to be able to get some practise at these kind of shots! Fi |

Re: Amy
It really is difficult for us to do different things with our models. We get into a rut and that becomes our style. We have to constantly seek new ideas.
It ain't easy. skip And it is soon going to be so hot here that I am going to try to do inside shoots! |

Re: Amy
No you wouldn't. It is so hot, that both the model and photographer get hot, sweaty and testy. And when the model perspires, she doesn't glow, her makeup streaks and becomes like cottage cheese
![]() I routinely tell the models to bring makeup touchup, towels and a lot of water. Even in early morning or late afternoon it is a problem here. So I guess the grass is brown on both sides of the fence. skip |

Re: Amy
First off I love the new background! Its quite different from the norm and I like it. Nitpicking I would say that there seems to be a bright spot in the top right corner of the BG - to the right of Amy's head. Perhaps it was kinked or something there? It is a little off-putting.
I would also like to see some outdoor shots during the summer, always good for the model to mix it up a bit! PS Skip, If her make up gets streaky she should try some RMK products (shameless plug as my missus works for them!)

Re: Amy
As before, nice model, nice setting, nice pose but she does not engage the viewer.
Why not try to get some extreme emotion in the model, anger, fear, joy? Your photo technique is great, if I was being harsh, a fill-in reflector to lesson the shadow on her face may have helped. Looking forward to your outdoor shots. Geoff TWO |

Re: Amy
from a viewers point and obviously this comes down to viewer , i dont find anything in what i see apart from a model in what i see as a fixed non expressionless face , Fi maybe you can put some light onto it , as you would like to do shots like this. but all these fixed poses do nothing for me
I cant personally see anything that would hold my view or want me to attempt a shot like this.as Geoff TWO says about the emotion , with some natural feeling and natural poses added with emotion and feel in their faces then yes it would engage the viewer. I feel the light on our right of Amys right eye area is tad bright. As all comments posted they are only our opinions , and on how we view the photo and interperate it in our own way , based from looking at it from what we see from the photography side more so then on our own personal choices and taste. Would like to see any shots you have where model has different emotions on their faces. The main thing like any photo we take , as long as you achieved what you were after and as long as your model was pleased with the results .

Re: Amy
Sorry to go against the flow but I am not keen on the background, it's too busy. Having said that, it is likely that if a a bit lighter, this shot is a bit dark all round, it might be slightly better but even then I would want to pull her forward in order to blur the BG a little. In this case though she has quite a tanned look and this is not being helped by the dark colour of the BG.
Still, these things are a lot down to personal taste so guess it just doesn't suit mine. I much prefer simpler BGs than ones with detail in them. As regards the shot itself, I agree with Skip, there is nothing wrong with her pose or expression, it just isn't any different to anything we have seen before so doesn't inspire. I feel that this highly competitive genre you have chosen to specialise in has got thousands of people out there all telling girls with one head, two arms and two legs to stand in front of them and look different.... and mostly looking much the same: not just yours, this genre in general. Finding exciting positions for glamour shots without them looking too provocative sexually is really going to be hard without them being a case of 'been there, seen that'. Although I do try whenever possible to offer thoughts that might help, I am at a bit of a loss here David. This really isn't a genre I have ever done a lot with and don't particularly enjoy doing and so I don't have much knowledge or expertise to offer you. I can only say what I feel according to my taste and the general principles of photography which you know anyway. I can see though why the very top glamour photographers get paid huge sums for their work: it is darned hard to achieve what they do. Keep up the efforts though, I look forward to seeing what you come up with the outdoor shots. Cheers, Rob
