Ancient Tree

I spotted this tree when walking in a lane near where I lived. I loved it's shape. I had my kit 18-55 lens on my Nikon D40X, but to get the tree I had to take 2 photos of the tree, one for the bottom and one for the top. I stitched these together in Photoshop.

I've only had my DSLR for 2 weeks so please don't be too unkind.

Re: Ancient Tree

yep great stitiching, i think the curves could have done with a little tweak as the colours look a bit flat but apart from that its terrific, u have caught the fabulous textures and shapes in the bark of the tree beautifully!

Thank you Summer and Fiona for your comments. I have edited the photo and tweaked the curves. Do you think this is better?

Re: Ancient Tree

The join does not show! I much prefer the tones in the second image. Sometimes reducing the size - uploading and posting on the web does tend to wash out colours a bit.

Now waiting to see more images! For today from you, I was expecting to seeing a Dragon peeping!
Happy St David's day!

Re: Ancient Tree

A different crop for you, as I was intrigued by the shapes round the roots

Re: Ancient Tree

Nice version Dave. I took the shot because the tree had so much character and such fantastic shapes. I'm glad you appreciated them.
