Re: another one from Edinburgh
Very nicely composed Fi, the diagonal lead in line from the right works extremely well and gives us an urban landscape in its truest sense. Nicely controlled lighting with rich colour. Your eye for the composition is getting better and better. Well done

Re: another one from Edinburgh
Hi Fi
(Anyone remember hi-fi from the 60's?) Nice image, and I really am struck by the contrast of the two high rises with the rest of the town and the hill. However, since to my eye, those 2 building are the focal points, I would crop a bit of sky and a bit off the left side to move them closer to the "thirds" and get rid of some extraneous sky. Whatcha tink? skip |

Re: another one from Edinburgh
thanx Skip and Rob., i did actually think about losing some sky BUT when i tried it the top of Arthurs seat was crying out for space if you know what i mean....... kinda between a rock and a hard place on that one. have to say that the high rises were not meant to be the focal point funny how things work out isnt it!

Re: another one from Edinburgh
I thought about the sky too but I don't feel you can lose much without unbalancing the picture laterally. The bottom third of the picture is quite dark but this is balanced by the lighter third of the sky. To cut some of that sky back will have the effect of darkening the bottom even more so IMHO I would leave it.
