Done this with Taylor, then the heavens opened and we got soaked, got water in my 85 mm prime lens aswell, not to happy about that.

that is really nice David. my one problem is her hand... my eye was instantly distracted by the sand on her fingers. another question. where did u find such a lovely beach!

That's the first thing I noticed too (honest). Less of an issue on her knees, and the rest of the image is great.

At least she was dressed for the rain!

Fantastic, great lighting, and good pose, the sand is a little noticeable but I don't think as much so for me as for the others

Sorry but first thing I saw was 'yuk, what filthy hands' and then I looked around and appreciated the rest of the picture. It's because the picture is genuinely lovely that the hand really stands out a mile for me. Just tested this one out on my wife.... exactly the same response. The thing is, even though we know it is only wet sand, it looks like mud at best and like she knelt down and put her hand in something unfortunate at worst!

Ok, putting that aside, the rest of this is lovely David. The tone is very natural and evenly lit. Not sure that sat back on her haunches is quite the right pose for her as she has quite strong legs and they look a bit big. If she was in a 90 degree kneel it would look much better I think.

So 99% of this looks fine, bits that could be improved but nothing terrible at all. It's just that mucky right hand that is an issue. Any more from this shoot with clean hands?

It is the little things that count, like the schmutz on her hands and knees.

The other thing that bothers me even more are the little frown lines in her brow. The look on her face doesn't belong in this scene. I get the impression that some dirty old man with a camera walked up to her on the beach, and she is covering herself and giving the dom a look that could melt the glass in his lens.

BTW, is your lens salvageable?
