Re: Autum Steps
Ahhh, autumn! Just a distant memory for us!
![]() Like the repeats but less so the sliver of sky - think maybe crop of top and bottom to emphasise the horizontal |

Re: Autum Steps
I disagree with Mark here, I think the contrasting blue sky adds to this otherwise it will just be a very yellow image of horizontal lines and leaves. Indeed, I would prefer one third of the picture to be the blue sky and two thirds the steps and leaves. I like the idea and I think your original is probably excellent. Sadly the level of compression here is making all the leaves appear a bit flat and featureless. You could have kept a bit more detail here as you have compressed almost twice as much as you needed to (this is 109kbs) but I do think to really have a strong impact, it needs to be good and sharp.
Lovely idea and definitely evocative of Autumn ![]() Cheers, Rob

Re: Autum Steps
Hi Sue
I don't get much of a feeling of depth from the steps. And I agree with Rob, more blue sky and concentration on the non parallel steps at the top may have made the image more interesting. However, if you really wanted to capture the leaves, a tight shot of the leaves would have done great. This is more a study of form, with all the parallel lines. skip |

Re: Autum Steps
I agree with Rob and Markulous, either more sky or no sky.
I really like the horizontal lines and the way they're broken up by the randomness of the leaves, you've obviously got a good eye for a shot. There seems to be a bit of a yellow colour cast here and I think the saturation's boosted a little high which looses some of the subtle details. I did a quick pimp to show what I mean, I used a curve to remove the colourcast and a hue/saturation layer to desaturate a little bit and then sharpened. ![]() cheers Dan
