Backyard Trees

I was wandering around in my backyard 2 years ago, with my old Canon s45, itching to take pictures. The trees are old bottlebrush trees that I planted about 25 years ago. Several brushes with hurricanes later, the trees are still standing, but bruised and battered.

Taken at 1/40 @ f/2.8 and 7.1mm. At that time I didn't know any better, and let my camera convert to BW.

Re: Backyard Trees

I like the idea you were going for Skip. It's a bit of a shame there is the foliage to the right as that blocks the view to the tree beyond. I love the shape of that tree, almost makes itself into a heart. I am not sure but I also think if the foliage wasn't there, we could see the path going out of the right back of the picture which would let the eye roam all the way through.

Nice effort and now you know why NOT to ever let your camera take the picture in mono! Useful for getting a visualisation of the scene but that's as far as it goes. Give me the control with PS every time :o)

Cheers,
Rob
