I think the sky is too overly saturated compared with the rest of the shot.

I think it's way above snapshot status, but the sky looks very dodgily over-saturated and the halos along the top of the buildings are a bit of a give away that the sky has been selectively saturated.
The buildings divide the pic too much along the centre line and a foreground crop might help that?

So do away with the sky colour burn and do a crop of the foreground?

That's what I'd try. There's nothing wrong with the sky burn and your pic may well need it depending what the original looks like, but that sky is just the wrong blue.
Try selecting the sky with the magic wand ( you may need to play around with the tolerances) then feather the mask by a few pixels to try to avoid the halo effect at the join. Instead of burning the sky just try darkening it for a more natural look and to bring out more natural looking colour.

Yes but imho you seem to have lost a significant amount of sharpness in the building. Maybe adjust that a little and it would be great?
Just my oppinion of course. -Rich |

Rich is right you do appear to have lost some sharpness but jpeg compression is progressive each time you save the image and you get deterioration. A quick sharpen might bring back the detail.

Yeah its much sharper!
You are right though, the conversion and compression process is often quite difficult to predict. I often find that if i post process a raw in PhotoshopCS is looks more saturated than it does when i "save for web". Nice progression anyway, the shot works much better now imho. |
