Re: On the Beach

I love the golden lighting and the angle of the groyne. I don't think this needs the horizon Rivan, I'd crop that off and let the attention stay in the interesting part of the picture. It looks good

Cheers,
Rob

Re: On the Beach

Took the words out of my mouth! Crop that horizon out

Good foreground detail and a nice diagonal.

How's that?
also if you upload a photo and it's not what you wanted is there a way to get rid of it?

Re: On the Beach

I've notice some pictures where the diagonal has been tinkered with. I'm not sure it would work in this case. I had a go and it looks like there is a huge wave just about to appear from the left. Perhaps that is why the bird has flown away.

Re: On the Beach

I like #4 the best I think, very nice. You could make the warning pole vertical without affecting the rest of the shot but its probably naturally at this angle.

Re: On the Beach

I think your cropped version is spot on Rivan, that looks much better. Not sure of the point of adjusting the lines to diagonal other than the usual feeling that a diagonal is more dynamic than a horizontal but in this case it doesn't need it. The strength of the diagonal is there in the groyne and this works well against the horizontal lines of the shoreline and waves.

Keep it simple and you can get a good shot, as this image proves. Well done Rivan.

Cheers,
Rob
