Re: beach shot
You've captured a very peaceful scene, billz. However, nothing seems to be in sharp focus, + there seems to be no focal point, i.e. a subject of interest upon which to rest the eyes. Other than that, not much to say except what a pleasant scene it looks. Could you tell me what you were trying to portray in this image?

I was hoping to capture a shaft of light coming down the beach unfortunately it didn`t come out very well ( that`ll teach not to bracket): The shot I as after was with the sun on the horizon but I got lost on way: theres always another day.

Re: beach shot
Hey billz
I agree with what Charlotte said. In addition, the water on the left side is lost in the shadows, while that on the right is exposed well. That is what happens frequently when shooting outside....the wide variation in exposure creates havoc inside the camera because it tends to average the meter reading. There are ways around that in shooting, ie tripod, multiple exposures at varying shutter speeds and then post processing using something called high dynamic range, which merges all the exposures and makes a more even shot. The other possibility is just to use shadows and highlights in photoshop cs2 and above to adjust. Hope this helps, and keep shooting. skip |
