Re: berries macro
The image is quite large, I think it might be over the allowed pixel length.
As there are a lot of berries its a bit confusing, for a nicer image possibly try have your main focus on one berry or find a nice bunch rather than trying to get the whole branch in as I think its too much for the eye to take in It also look out of focus, I dont know if this is to do with the upload or the actual image, some camera shake possibly? |

Re: berries macro
I've edited the img tags out of your post as the image is oversize for Pixalo.
Images are limited to 1000 pixels on the longest side and 300kb. Most members do not use the maximum length as it make images larger than the average monitor. This guide covers the image sizes, and our rules and guidelines can be found here. |

Re: berries macro
for starters, I like where the sharp focus starts, and that's right up front, then works it's way out of focus to the background. I know it's not always possible to have the focus plane,"DOF" not go out of focus in the front and as well in the back. Looks good so just let it rip and find some more subjects and shoot the same way for this kind of shot. Maybe a smaller aperture.

Re: berries macro
I like this shot, although I felt it needed a bit of a boost + refining. Had a play, and adjusted the levels + curves, as the tones were a bit flat. Then I cropped it a bit, to remove some of the OOF berries + BG and direct attention to (which I felt were) the main berries. I manually blurred the BG to reduce the noise (so's not to affect the berries). I was tempted to sharpen the image, but did not because this made the central OOF berry look more blurred, and as this berry is one of prominence (by reason of its central placement) that was not desirable.
Just my view, but hope it helps + gives you a few ideas ![]()

Re: berries macro
Nice image except for the central berry which is out of focus. This is the one my eye is drawn to all the time. If this had been sharp I think it would have been much better. Charlettes crop also help a lot.
