Blue Angels Flying HIgh
![]() I'm dealing with the sky again as my previous picture posted in here. Really was hoping for some clouds as I think that helps when taking pictures in the sky. I think I did alittle better, but would love some imput. The cropping is the best that can be done for this picture--took it quick and they almost got out of the shot. Those buggers are fast

Re: Blue Angels Flying HIgh
Can't see this well enough to critique it properly as it's quite small, could we see a larger image?

Re: Blue Angels Flying HIgh
I would love to send a larger image but I had a hard time getting it this size. I will try again.

Re: Blue Angels Flying HIgh
Charlotte I just tried to make it bigger. I figured out what I did wrong. I had already cropped the picture
I went back to the original and started from scratch. Not a pretty sight. It was all sky except for the planes in the far bottom corner. I will just let this blunder go....The planes actually look smaller when I redo it the right way and try to send it. Sorry.

Re: Blue Angels Flying HIgh
Hi Mary
In spite of the small image, I like this shot. The Angels are in perfect formation, and you captured them on a good diagonal for max. interest. Sure, clouds would have added interest and a dynamic, but you had no choice. Could photoshop some clouds in, but I don't know how that would look. And you surely know now the difficulty of photographing something going 600 mph. Considering that, you did a remarkable job. skip |

Re: Blue Angels Flying HIgh
I never thought of the "captured them on a good diagonal for max, interest. Thanks Skip that was a good way of seeing it
Charlotte I don't know when I will be able to photograph them again. Probably in 2 years as I think they come every two years. I have another picture I may post in here for critique.

Re: Blue Angels Flying HIgh
This shot is onlt 63kbs so you neednet have gone that small dogdots. If you have the original, why not give it another go?
Picture makes an itneresting shot, almost too close to look believable because it is so cropped which has a foreshortening effect. I think this picture definitely needs some more sky to contextualise the shot. We know they are planes and we know that they are flying in formation but the lighting here has meant the planes blend so they look like one welded mass. When something is, as you rightly said, moving fast like this, you need to give the object a little space to move into or else the picture can't breathe and that is my main problem ehre. There is nothing wrong with the composition itself, you've got a dynamic angle so it works fine. Just the tight crop that holds it back. It would actually be perfectly possible to put more sky around this pic to make it work so go for it. It would be worth it as there is a good pic here screaming to get out. Cheers, Rob

Re: Blue Angels Flying HIgh
I have tried to send this picture from the original and I can't get it bigger. I can't figure out why. Any ideas?

Re: Blue Angels Flying HIgh
No I didn't overwrite my original. I would be embarrased to post the original. I caught the Blue Angles in the lower corner of my picture
Yes, a pilot was killed at a show just before coming to my town. Sad..so sad.
