Blue Tit
Don't normally do bird shots, but took my camera into the office this morning as we've got lots of birds out there. Not allowed to feed them though as apparently it encourages rats! Taken through glass & think shutter speed should have been higher as there is movement in the tail. But in general, what do you think.

Re: Blue Tit
I think given the restrictions of having to shoot through glass you have got a very pleasing image Whip. It's a tad soft on the focusing, almost certainly because of the window, but nice composition and the catchlight in the eye gives the little fella some character

Re: Blue Tit
Thanks Rob, they are quite unafraid of us, so I'm taking the camera in again tomorrow and will sit quietly in the opposite end of the garden & see if I can get a bit sharper.

Re: Blue Tit
Sarah, just as a little tip, the BG is clearly quite a way from the branch on which the bird is sitting so you can afford to go for a slightly narrower aperture, perhaps f 5.6, and still get good blurring. That in turn will give you a little more leeway in terms of depth of field so you should get the whole bird in good focus
![]() Hope our little feathered friends put in another appearance tomorrow. Good luck! Cheers, Rob |

Re: Blue Tit
Except for the softness, I like this pic. The two diagonals make it quite interesting.
Listen to Rob. Get the bird pics sharp and you have winners. But if you can, don't take them through the window. One more glass, non-optical, degrades the image. skip |
