There's nothing really of note here to make me want to look at it for any length of time. My only Q is whereabouts is this? Glasgow?

It's too flat for me Fi but others may like it as a reportage type shot!

um yes it does to a point...... other people often see things from a different point of view, and can make u see things u didnt previously notice or an opinion u didint think about. i dont think its about "like" its more what other people think of it

I'm always the odball! I LOVE this photo, Fi, for more reasons that I can share here. I like the perspective, that Skip calls "tilt", in this photo. As AnnG said, it adds to the statement made here. I do think it's a little bit flat, but you could tweak that. Did you remove the original background and fill in with clouds? Is there any way to sharpen/highlight the "I am with you Always" sign?

Bonnie, the background is as it is i didint do anything to it. it was a weird sort of day and was shot at 7:30 am........... im not sure if i can highlite the sign...... will have a look at it later

Works fine as PJ - think it'd make a more interesting and balanced shot if you had just one window/side. That sky does look very weird!

I think it is great, both as a picture and as a comment.

First impression is that it is a sad derelict building, then when seeing the sadness deepens for what it represents.

If the photo has this effect on yourself and one other it is worth treasuring above the commonplace.

Well done for the photo and for the courage to share it.

I can see what you have tried to achieve but I don't think it has great impact. As a statement on its decay and the dereliction of the place, I don't think you need the whole building. I would go in and take a shot of the sign, the boarded up door and the noticeboards either side.

As a Christian myself, I would find it a thought-provoking picture with the Salvation Army, a Christian organisation seeking to help those who are down and out (derelict!) and a sign saying 'I am with you always'. That is the punch of this picture so the rest of the building is somewhat immaterial to the overall statement.

Just my view
