Re: Bride.....

Good idea & works well, could have got the bridesmaids to get the flowers tighter together & a little more evenly spaced into an oval so you couldn't see the bridesmaid on the top right of the shot. Then shot a little wider than the flowers so you could have cropped in to make them the edge of the frame if that makes sense or shot to make them the edge of the frame.
Her expression seems a little forced, but not too much. Have you done any work on the skin/eyes? As the eyes look a bit unnatural? But that could just be me.

Re: Bride.....

I also think that the concept is good But I do think that the execution could be better (for me anyway).

The background is a bit fussy and the picture could do with a small rotate anti clockwise. I'm also wondering if a wider shot to include the bridesmaids would be better as the one that is in the picture is a bit of a distraction. I'm sure that some people might think that you have just put a border over a picture of the bride too! Some different arrangement of the bridesmaids will show what works best, there must be lots of ways that this shot could be set up.

I also think that her complexion looks artificial. Very Portrait Professional. Agree with Sarah that her eyes seem to be overly white.

So to summerise - great idea but more variations on the theme will likely result in a better end result to use in your portfolio.

If you have not realised already, showing pictures to photographers will usually bring some criticism and nit-picking as we will be looking at/for different things to Joe Public - most of who will not see the things that we do and will like the shots as presented. Hope that you don't think that we are all negative and have a downer on your pictures.

Re: Bride.....

I agree with Graham above. Also think the composition is too fussy.

Re: Bride.....

It is a little busy but there is a good idea here! As it stands I think a bit off the top and bottom would help, there are loads of ways you could make this a better picture but it needs loads of work done on it, all is not lost though, as I said there is a good idea in this picture and I am sure that you will use this for future shoots, colours and focus are spot on!

Re: Bride.....

I'm not an expert and I have a lot to learn as well, but trying to constructively look at this as if it were my own shot, I would think I'd prefer a less retouched image. The eyes are unnaturally white as are her teeth. I know this is a popular look for a lot of photographers/photoshoppers in the US, but it does sort of scream "unnatural". I think the concept is difficult; the colors are nice and bright. The random bridesmaid is really distracting. If I were to photoshop something, it would have been removal of her from the background (time consuming). The random hands and arms are distracting. Truth be told, no disrespect intended, but the overall look reminds me of the wreath they put on a winning horse from a derby. Of course though, I'm not an expert. It's just a 2 cent opinion, if even that.

Re: Bride.....

i agree with everything that has been said and i will add that i think you need a wider DoF as the flowers are all slightly more out of focus than the bride ( who doesnt actually look pin sharp in the first place)
but i think these need to be sharp as each other for the work over and above whats already been said but i echo its an excellent concept and well worth trying again with a little more thought in the planning of it
