Re: Bridge
If you want critique I'll move this to that forum Ray. You will probably get better feedback there.
I'm not sure about the terrain here and where the bridge was compared to your viewpoint. I'm guessing that it was on ground that was falling away from you and was over a fairly deep cutting. I'm feeling that I wish I could see the bottom of the arches. Why are there two? I know it is not always possible to get the whole bridge in a shot - or you might not want the whole bridge in, but as you have presented this, there seems to be a lot missing on the RHS that would tell me more about the bridge and its location. I think a less acute angle and perhaps some more distance would give the context I'm missing - but as I said, I don't know if there was any other options for you there. The sky does not look right somehow. I can make out a halo on the skyline too. In a nutshell it is the composition that could be improved. If there were no alternatives you have a nice record shot of the location.

Re: Bridge
Ahh - right. I think you might have gone a bit too far then - the bridge is certainly the focal point, but I feel it is incomplete when I look at it. I want the picture to tell me more.
How about posting the original in the 'Pimp My Photo' gallery and inviting people to put their interpretations on it? That will give you a number of variations in the one place that you can compare. |

Re: Bridge
I like this, but sort of like Graham said, I would like to see the bridge a bit more, at a slightly different angle, so that it is more 'open'. Can't really explain, but I'll have a look at the original in your gallery

Re: Bridge
I think you've become your own victim on this one Ray. It's a pleasant enough shot but despite the bridge being the stated focal point, the hill beyond is also pretty much a focal point to. The picture is stuck between being a bridge shot and a landscape shot and isn't quite sure which it is.... it's got an identity crisis
![]() That doesn't mean it's a bad shot, not at all. Just a bit betwixt and between. Cheers, Rob |
