Broadway Tower - Mono ....what else ;)

Thought I would post up a PIMP I did of the Broadway Tower shot I took the other day. Quite happy with the conversion, just wondered if anything else people would advise on shot. Should I have cloned out the fence & little brick platform to left ?

It's rather good, tho' not to say that it can't be "improved"!

D&B clouds and tower, burned back brick thingy, cropped sliver off the bottom, bit of toning

NO, absolutely not Dave!!!!

Why? Well, first of all, it was there. Why demolish a perfectly good building?

Ok, I know we all do that at times but here's a better reason: it provides us with vital scale that shows the folly as being something very big. Without it, it could be any size. The clean mono you used originally I think works best, it is more dramatic and moody. I love it just as it is. Just because something is there, does not mean it has got to be got rid of! In this case, the scale it helps us with is important to the power of the shot. In my own homble opinion anyway <g>

Cheers,
Rob

Ah, good point Rob !!! Maybe I'll just burn it down a bit, as just concerned ones eye keeps getting dragged over to it, due to brightness ?

Yup, I would agree with that Dave, just drop its luminance a touch so that the towere gets the attention it deserves. I love the picture though, great clarity and an imposing sense of power which is much stronger here than it would be if this was in colour.

Cheers,
Rob
