Building reflection
Last time I posted one of my photoblog shots on here it was because I wasn't happy with it. This time it's the opposite - I'm rather smugly happy about it.
Here it is, you can click it to see it on my photoblog and leave a comment, if you like: ![]() The description and Exif info are also on the blog. This was one of those shots where you check it on the camera's LCD screen and it's as if someone has suddenly replaced your CF card with one belonging to a pro. You just look back at the image and think "did I just take that?" Anyway, to cut my ramble short... I like it. But in the spirit of bettering myself I thought I'd post it here in case I could've done something more with it. |

Well I like it too but I can't work out what the building is. First thought...a car park but then I thought it's a mammoth heat-sink

Heh. Never noticed that before. It does kinda look like a heatsink, doesn't it.

I have to say that the missing top left corner of the building is attracting my attention and somewhat ruining my enjoyment of this shot. I like the idea and for the most part the execution; however the framing just doesn't sit comfortably with me. Sorry.

Great detail & tones to the shot, but I find the shot actually makes me feel dizzy. I think it's the lines shooting off everywhere. Take it as a good thing that it creates some reaction, as another person will love the effect. Just checked the Blog...some great work there Jamey & fair play finding a new shot daily.

Nice shot and I do see what the others mean about a massive heatsink!!! an overclockers paradise!!!
Although it's that missing top bit that does seem to pull your eye to it. |

I think I had a bash at getting the whole building in but there was some reason why I couldn't. I think the reflection started to go funny. Or maybe there was just too little of the inside of the room Vs the reflection. I forget.
Moving back a bit wouldn'tve worked either as anything 'wider' would've caught the window frame. |

I actually had another bash yesterday to see if I could get all the building into the shot without including any of the window frame. Unfortunately the only way to do it was to point upwards to such an extent that the interior of the room beyond the window was little more than a thin strip along the bottom of the frame, meaning that I might as well have just taken a straight shot of the building.
I appreciate all the criticism though. Thanks guys. Just that with the framing I reckon that's the best I could've done. |
