Just my opinions, but it needed a little more DOF to make the back of the wings pin sharp as well... Also, it's not quite central - the 'weighting' of the pic seems to be a little left-of-centre

I'd say you did very well to capture it at all though

I'm guessing that's already a substantial crop Joe, and I don't think you have the sharpness and image quality left to do much with it. Shame though.

Its only cropped by around 10%.The unresized version is 2844 v 1803 pixels. I just wanted to try to retain as much data as possible.

Thanks very much. I spens ages trying to get it centre, and I agree I havent got it exactly right yet! It is crucial to the shot though.

Really unusual shot Joe T - agree about the dof comments and a shame the antennae were not erect and in focus too.

It looks like a Comma to me !

Overall I like and, although you prob have reasons not to crop further imho it could do with a tad more ?

Well composed. DOF is very restricted and f5.3 is too large an aperture to give the DOF this shot is crying out for! Get in a bit closer with a smaller aperturte and the BG will still be OOF enough to give the colour/tones you need for a backdrop without any distracting detail.

Good effort though.
