Re: Calke Church HDR
No expert in HDR myself, but there are two halos - a faint one around the church and a stronger one on the tree line. Don't know if this is a settings/strength issue, but have not always seen other HDR images with halos.

Re: Calke Church HDR
Hi sawdust
![]() There's also a good tutorial on the Photomatix site, have a quick look through it, it'll get you started in no time Photomatix takes a bit of getting used to, and you have to play around with the settings a bit, to find a processing method that you like. Basically, this one hasn't worked too well, firstly in that it doesn't look sharp, like it should after an hdr treatment. Secondly it's got white halo's which shouldn't be there. My advice for hdr shots is to take 3 shots, not 5, i.e. fewer shots to match up = a smoother blending of the shots for sharpest results. Have another go sawdust, you'll soon get the hang of it

Re: Calke Church HDR
Dave, if you shoot +2, 0, -2 then you get the full range that a dslr can handle

Re: Calke Church HDR
Nice thing about digital is you can always try again. I like six shots,,I found that it gives you on most shots a nice smooth histogram to start out with. 3 shots are ok and you can get good results. I would say read everything you can about what tools work for what, and then make what you like. Artistic license, enter in the search hdr and look at some of the pic's there. I have one that has been said to have halos, but I say it's the reflected sun, or like to think so,,
keep up the good work sawdust your on the right track to a real good hdr.Boofers |
