Re: Canonteign falls
It's a lovely shot - very nice comp.
I might've been tempted to reduce the exposure by a stop - would've given the shadows more of an impact as well as given the image more depth - as well as preventing any burned highlights (if shor in RAW, you can probably recover the highlights). Having said that, minor points, but you did ask........ ![]() |

Re: Canonteign falls
I like this, great comp and exposure on the water. Only thing I'd say is that it looks like the long exposure has caused some of the foliage to be slightly blurred due to movement, and this gives an illusion of softness. Still good shot though

Re: Canonteign falls
Not the expert on waterfalls as I have only little trickles around me to shoot. Have studied a bunch on timed exposures and have many waterfalls in archive from travels. I tend to like the surrounding content sharp with a falls this soft. If it were me, I would have shot it a tad faster. I remember when this picture first posted, it is a very attractive falls with the sloping tree to the left side.

Re: Canonteign falls
Very nice, I like it just the way it is, except for one thing, I'd crop out that stray bit of sky at the top. Love the colours, composition etc., and I think that bit of movement in the foliage definitely adds to the image, giving it a sort of painterly effect

Re: Canonteign falls
I'd love to have waterfalls like that round here.
The only thing that looks odd to me is the first shoot, which looks like it's coming out of a tree . I guess there's a man made chute there?![]() |

Re: Canonteign falls
What a great looking place. You have composed it well, could do with a touch more punch in the image.
But what is going on with the head of the fall, seems to be coming out of the middle of the tree, wierd. ![]() |

Re: Canonteign falls
the reason the falls looks like it is coming outta of the trees is because there is a cute right at the top which is about 6 foot long & over hangin the top of the falls. why its there i dont know!
thanks for all the comments people, |

I seem to think we visited a few years ago, a long climb up to a viewing platform? and the a woodland walk down the other side? |
