Change of pace
The last few shots I've posted were of snow. Lets change the pace here and post something bright and cheery from sunny and warm Key West Florida.
Let me know what you think. - Paul

Re: Change of pace
Hi Paul
Are you in the Keys now? Good for you if so. I like the contrasting colors here, but this image isn't saying anything to me. I am confused about what the subject is, what to focus upon. My eye is drawn to the white wood first, and I don't think that is what you want. skip |

Re: Change of pace
that photo has lovely vibrant colours, but like Skip it doesnt give me a story. the first thing i thought was that it was a white gravestone ( should i start getting worried now! ) photographed downwards but then i noticed it was wood. it could be anything. i think more or less of the wood would help to give more of a story, I do like the white however it contrasts beautifully with the reds which is what i think you were using it for?

Re: Change of pace
It doesn't give much of a story but it is certainly 'eye candy' in that the colours are strong and eye-catching. Must admit it doesn't overly speak to me of 'Sunny, warm Florida' as this could be anywhere but that is by the by. It's colours make it a pleasant picture so that is fine.
I could see the white bit was wood (don't worry, Fiona has gravestones on the brain!) but it doesn't add a lot to the picture simply because it isn't obvious what it is. Maybe a bit of picket fencing? Anyway, I still like it for the colours and the leaf detail, especially in the green and yellow leaf. Cheers, Rob

Re: Change of pace
Skip, we were in the Keys in December. Would love to be there now as we haven't been above freezing here in Michigan in about 4 weeks.
One of the things I love about Key West is the bright and cheerful Carribean colors. I posted several shots in a Pixalo album called Key West Color that I will post here over the next few days for your review. I don't disagree with your comments about the photo above not able to stand on its own - it probably does better as a part of a set of shots as in the album. Thanks for your input. - Paul |
