Like that Fi, definitely better to have all the mouth and you have left a tad extra grey midtone which helps as well.

OK, Fi, nice shot. Certainly better.

Now, tell me what your feelings are about this type of shot. What are you trying to convey? What feeling? Is it just a different technique to draw the viewers attention or are you trying to say something? I am not being facitious here. I seriously want to know what you are thinking.

okies...... well first off cheryl is quite a heavy girl and very self conscious of it.......... so my first thought was to try to make something different of the photo so the first thing she thought was NOT gonna be "OMG i look huge" she is a very pretty girl with amazing eyes so i wanted to keep her eyes as the main focus of it. and i also wanted to try to portray her mad and fun personality. she looks on life in a different way from most 18 yr olds round here.......... so i wanted something that was a bit different that would suit her.

and last but not least yes i wanted to try something different and see hte way it worked out. im not honestly sure what order i would put everything but i know the number one was for her to like the image and not think about herself looking "fat" in it.
now.... did I succeed do u think?

Fi, you succeeded beyond your wildest dreams. Absolutely wonderful job, and Cheryl has to be really pleased with the image.

I am curious. What does the image look like in a normal exposure? Does it portray a different personna? Your thoughts please

completely different Skip.......... the normal exposure just doesnt bring out her personality!
she cold be any girl sitting there. NOT cheryl. but that i think is the benefit of knowing her

You know, I found that fascinating to read and think we should encourage more of that kind of detail when showing our shots here: something of what we had in mind when we were presenting the shot in a particular way. It helps us viewing as we can look at it and see if we feel the shot has achieved much of what you were aiming for.

I know for myself that my opinions are always going to be partly coloured by my own tastes but I can appreciate a picture outside of my taste gamut more when I know what the person was trying to achieve.

Exactly right, Rob. Discussions like that help the creative process even more.

Lucky for us that Fi is bright, creative, and able to express herself clearly (except when she talks funny).
