Chloe - Mono Portrait by Window light
Managed to grab this shot of my Cousins daughter, Chloe, this weekend. Batteries had just died on the flash , so used just natural light from the window. Nikon 17-55mm f/2.8 lens.

Thats a cracking shot Dave, nice and sharp, my only small niggle with it is her fringe slightly covering her eyes but thats more of a hairdresser thing than a photographer thing

Thanks for your comments. Must admit I prefer natural light, so will have to practice , practice with the flash to get acceptable results.....well to me anyway

You are certainly right to use mono and the superb cropping. This has made me realise that the child may be more natural and relaxed when one of the parents are holding them and you have shown how easily they can be removed in PhotoShop. A great photograph.
