Re: Christina in the Tree
I considered that motive.
However, would you like to comment on the merits of the image? That is why I put it in the critique section. Thank you skip |

Re: Christina in the Tree
Skip - I'd love to see the expressions on your model's faces when you say to them 'Yeah, I've got my own studio', and when they get there they find they have to climb a tree!
This is a more controlled picture than the last tree shot, but this lady is not enjoying herself in the branches as much as your prevoius model. I like the leaves and the branch providing a frame and the diagonal trend of the image. Overall this is OK, but lacks the impact that the shots of Cara had. I think that is as much down to the model as the photographer, and personality, although not absolutely essential in every modelling shoot (fashion etc), in your more informal environment and style, I think is a vital ingredient. The cool/moody sort of look does not suit this shot, whereas in the earlier one the model weas at one with the tree and the feel of the shoot.

Re: Christina in the Tree
Sorry Skip, this doesn't do much for me ... well, I s'pose it wouldn't, since I'm not one to look up skirts
Doesn't seem much more to the image than that, I'm afraid, i.e. a girl who looks like she wants you to look up her skirt

Re: Christina in the Tree
Yeah sorry Skip couldn't resist that, Anyway back to the photo technically there's nothing wrong here but for me the composition is all wrong, It just makes me think why is she up a tree!!

Re: Christina in the Tree
Hi Skip,
When I first viewed this photo my eyes were immediately drawn to look up her skirt, not her face (and honestly I'm not that type of girl). Then in b***hy female fashion I said to myself "Look how big her thighs are" which I'm sure they're not but the angle does nothing but highlight them. Anyway, I find the bright light on the right hand side near her face very distracting and her face is certainly not the main focus of this photo. I like the idea of the model up the tree but this one doesn't quite work for me. Perhaps if you were more at her eye level it would work better? Don't quite know how you'd achieve this.... |

Re: Christina in the Tree
Ackkkkkk
And this was one of my favorite shots because I liked the sort of detached look. Honestly, I never even thought about looking up her dress in this shot....I just liked the composition, the angle of the trees and the look on her face. However, in true pixalo fashion, I am taking all of the comments to heart, thinking about them seriously, and then discarding them and going about my own way ![]() Thanks skip (that is a joke - I really do appreciate all of the comments and take them into consideration.) |

Re: Christina in the Tree
have to say i agree with whats already been said abotu the thighs and skir issue so no point rehashing it.......... other than that i DO like her expression and i think it did acheive that detached look you were talking about, as to her being comfortable i think thats more down to her leg position . my other concern is that the back ground is way blown out and i feel that is detracting my eye from the image as a whole.

Re: Christina in the Tree
The background was the first thing that caught my eye (and that can't be good), and unfortunately as Victoria said - the pose isn't all that flattering from a leg point of view!
I'd like to see some "from above" shots - in fact I'm planning some myself next weekend!! C |

Re: Christina in the Tree
I didn't want to start a new thread, but this is another low angle shot, and Christina's thigh doesn't look as thick, plus we are not looking up her dress.
Someone once said that swimsuits are only appropriate subjects for photos at the beach or pool, but I think the contrast with the tractor works. What do you think? skip
