This is one of my first attempts at RAW imaging, I've had a mess about with it and am quite pleased, what do you think?

Re: Church entrance
The colours etc are nice but as a composition I think face on with equal space each side showing the church doors would be nice.

Re: Church entrance
Me too, unfortunately the footpath is only a couple of feet across and there is a damn great barrier there with a very busy road on the other side, and I didn't fancy standing in the middle of the road trying to take a photo

Re: Church entrance

Re: Church entrance
I like it, and technically it's a good photograph. I think a tight crop around the porch is called for here. I had a go at it, but I've exceeded my upload limit for today. I tried a tight crop as mentioned and did a bit of tidying up, in order to focus more attention onto the porch, e.g. a bit of cloning and burning back some detail to make it stand out more. I could upload my effort tomorrow if you're interested in looking, in case it gives you any ideas.

Absolutely, I'd love to see it, anything that helps me 'get it right' next time is always appreciated

Re: Church entrance
I think this works nicely enough Steve but if I am honest I am not sure this is a great candidate for doing HDR with, simply because it doesn't have a lot of extremes either light or dark and so shouldn't be too hard to get the shot with full dynamic range anyway. I hope that makes sense.
Nice enough without doing an awful lot to make me keep looking. Cheers, Rob |
