Re: Church of Ireland Moville.

I assume that you were trying for a dark amd moody feel for this. However you have a bright patch of sunlight on the church which for me destroys the effect.

On the other hand if all the church was lighter against the darker skies and trees that could work as well.

I know it is difficult with a wide angle lens but I am not a fan of converging verticals unless they are extreme. I do not know if it would work but you could try to straighten them a bit.

Re: Church of Ireland Moville.

i have to agree with, AQ . the bright patch of sunlight spoils the whole effect , in my limited experience was this shot as HDR? , The reason is that maybe you could do something with the bight patch in the layer palette, but i think overall it's a great photo

TBH, I don't really know why you went for B/W, as colour with that light, is by far the better result in my book!

Adjust Blue/Cyan saturation, crop to 3:2 to put tower off centre

Re: Church of Ireland Moville.

Cheers everyone, was thinking along the same lines me-self Markulous, I'd spent a fair bit of time on the color 1 which i thinks nice, there's more areas of detail in the color 1 that's been lost in the other, don't know what i was doing wrong but i couldn't get it similar to the color.

Re: Church of Ireland Moville.

Well all that work was worth it Simp, you came out with a lovely coloured shot and a really good mono as well. A good example of BOGOF

I actually can't decide which version I prefer as they both have different qualities. I think the colour edges it but I'd be happy with either. Well done!

Cheers,
Rob

Re: Church of Ireland Moville.

I too like both shots, the lighting is OK with me. Churchs should have a good light anyway, they don't always have to be moody.
