Re: Concentraiion
Apt title - he's totally engrossed in his task.
Think that when you use the select tool, be worth choosing the 'feather' option which will soften the edge of your selection |

Re: Concentraiion
I do not see the need to soften the edges.I have no doubt you are correct in your assessment
unfortunately I have quite severe sight problems so probably do not see things as others do. So perhaps tbe time has come for me to refrain from posting pictures in this section |

Re: Concentraiion
Why should you not post here Foxes? It's good to see your pictures like everyone elses. Obviously, this is the critique thread so people will give feedback comments on them but that's what we all post for and learn from.
I entirely understand if you have sight problems that you may not always see the image the way someone else, but hey, that is just as valid. Who's to say the way I or anyone else sees something is the 'right' way? :o) I agree that the cut out does look like a cut out, aprticularly around the hair, one of the hardest types of selection to make look natural. However, I like this picture as it is a whole piece of work. I can see what the man is doing, who he is, how much he is concentrating, what he is working on, etc. It tells us a complete story here and so is very valid indeed. One tiny bit you probably didn't notice that could be cloned out in a second is a little bright purple speck on the black BG to the left as we look, halfway between the side and his forehead. It distracts a little so would be worth getting rid of. A minor thing but worth clearing up as the rest of the picture is a very good one. Cheers, Rob

Re: Concentraiion
Keep posting BUT listen to what others have to say and stop blaming poor eyesight for not accepting peoples help.
It doesn't need good eyesight to know that feathering a selection will help to blend one image onto another. Come on folks, get real! Les PS Been a long day and might be a bit fractious right now. |

Re: Concentraiion
This is an interesting people-at-work image, for the reasons already mentioned by Rob.
However, the cut-out effect does spoil it, no two ways about that. Could we see the original shot, perhaps the BG on that one is not so bad as you think. Also a tight crop would help to exclude much of the BG, something like this :
