Cornfield with Orton Effect

I was playing with this the other day and I'm sure it is the wrong kind of picture for this type of style as its pretty busy. Also through my readings here the Orton Effect has been done a lot. So I hope not to bore you all, but I would like you to have a go at it and critique it to the fullest.

Re: Cornfield with Orton Effect

Well, since nobody else has said anything and you've asked for comments, I'm afraid it makes my eyes go funny (or funnier) because it looks out of focus. Maybe it's just that I'm not an Orton fan, but sorry anyway.

Re: Cornfield with Orton Effect

I'm going to have to agree with Silky here. I think the Orton effect is more suited to pictures that have more general content. Like the cottage and garden or woodland pictures that you sometimes find in jigsaws or on chocolate boxes.

I don't think your one benefits from it.

Think you've got it right: the subject's just too busy. But also think the image lacks a degree of substance, again due to the subject. Worth trying on another subject, I feel!

Re: Cornfield with Orton Effect

But hey DD, it was a good practice, now find a better shot to do it with and you'll be on to a winner for sure

Looking forward to seeing the next effort

Cheers,
Rob
