I've uploaded a few images to the gallery and would really welcome any feedback/advice anybody has for me - especially photoshop advice as i'm really useless at editing my images!
I am a total beginner but hoping to be able to take photography further and quite nervous about putting my pics up for everyone to see but here goes

The pic below was taken with my compact kodak at the local wildlife park - it's quite grainy as was taken on pretty much full zoom.


This next pic is from a fantastic spot called the Qeen's view up by Pitlochry and was also taken using my Kodak DX6490

those are some great shots to start wiv, one small bit of advice, if you click the thumbnail in the gallery you will get a larger pic, use this pic to link to by right clicking/proporties and copy/past the url in the list so we can see the larger pic


i do like the Wolf, possibly an even tighter crop would realy make him stand out

landscape pic is good

I'm with Mr Pix, I'd go for a tight head crop on the wolf.

to do this, open the pic with photoshop or whatever editing suite you have, chose the ' crop ' tool ( this is the diamond shape icon on the left panel in ps ) and ' drag-draw ' a square/rectangle round the bit you want , once the area has been defined, press the tick on the top taskbar, if you dont like your selection press the reject symbol next to it and have another go, hope this helps

It's a real shame his paws are just in the way of a full head crop. A bit of *cough* artistic adjustment gives you the shot you might have got. I just deepened the eye colour a bit.

Thats made a real difference to the shot - do you think it's better to always crop in so tight on shots like that to get an impact?
I have a couple of other wolf pics - he was a real poser! Have had a go at cropping them myself tho

Another pretty good shot, although the first one is the more typical of a wolf IMO.

There aren't any hard and fast rules about cropping, it all depends on the pose and the background. If you'd caught him in a more interesting pose than just lying down you might not want to crop, so it's a case of deciding with each pic really.
