To Crop or Not
I took this shot on Friday just managed to catch the last of the sun. Originall cropped it but after a useful comment on it reworked to include more sky. Now not sure whether to include mor foreground. So here is the uncut photo. Any comments much appreciated and not just related to the crop. Thanks

Re: To Crop or Not
Gut feeling is original crop looks nicest.
Was waiting for this sort of sunshine yesterday but it never materialised :/ |

But of the one posted compared to the 2nd link - my personal preference is for the linked image, the cropped version.

Re: To Crop or Not
Reset the Album details. Should be able to view all images now. The crop in my Gallery shows less sky than the one in the album. I am erring towards the crop with more sky. The foreground in the uncropped is not in focus. Thanks for your comments.

Re: To Crop or Not
I am inclined towards the crop by Markulous but even so I like the first one very much.

Re: To Crop or Not
I'm with the original, I would like Mark's but I've said too many nice things about him recently so gotta go against him now and again
Seriously though, I do like the original and the cropped one takes the eye too far to the left of the picture.I also feel that a shot of such a beautiful landscape needs a bit of space to breathe. I might crop a centimetre off the bottom only but that is minor. I am perfectly happy having foreground detail and then the road curling away into the distance. Lovely shot ![]() Cheers, Rob

Re: To Crop or Not
I think there seem to be whole mix of opinions. I see this view regularly. You drive out of Cockermouth go under the A66 up a small rise and then this view springs out on you. Difficult to catch it as we naturally pan to see it all whereas the camera is restricted to a certain scope only. Many thanks for the advice.
