As a photo it is A1 Well done Fi - Composition is spot on. Shame about the dead branches on the LHS, maybe a bit of cloning?

Re: dangerous angle

Hey guys. I am back! Power supply on puter c****d out, just got it fixed.

Anyway, I rather like this. I am of two minds about the branches, but overall, I do think that they add.

Your settings were great, and I am not the least bit upset about the loss of detail in the shadows because it focuses the viewer on the water.

However, I think that you would have gotten a better framed picture if you had moved about a meter to your right

Re: dangerous angle

Thanks, Fi. I guess if you had moved, I would never have gotten the change to say Hi Fi again.....sound would have been lost.

Dang, most of you, maybe all of you, are much to young to remember HiFi.

Re: dangerous angle

curious on how you got the beveled edges on the inside of white frame (border) , looks effective.
Personally i like the dead twiggs as to me it adds character and atmosphere to the waterfall .Nice shot Fiona

Re: dangerous angle

In Photoshop, the bevel edge is a layer style that is one of many effects that can be used. Check out my recent images as I'm going through a bevel phase at the moment!

Re: dangerous angle

Nice shot again Fi! I agree with the boys though, you should be taking your shears next time and chopping away at those stinky branches!

Looks quite slidey, maybe a good waterfall for a spot of white water rafting lol.

Re: dangerous angle

I like this shot Fi...but I wonder if there was/is a way to a) de-center the waterfall and/or b) rotate the frame to create more of a diagonal line. This may not be feasible in post processing but that's just my thought. Still the water was captured perfectly and I very much like the dead twigs there. Maybe I'll have a go at PIMPING this once I finish my schoolwork for the day!

Re: dangerous angle

I love the composition Fi but the lighting feels very flat. I've had a play with it and prefer this result, but there is a lovely shot in there so well done :o)

I'm actually wondering if your monitor is in real need of a calibration Fi as I have seen a few pics lately where the images are fine but the colours have looked very flat and often have had a colour cast. It may well be that you are seeing it very differently to the way it is showing to some of us.

Cheers,
Rob
