Re: days gone by
Lovely perspective shot down the locomotive - very minor point, but I'd burn back that white sign a touch. I assume you used a fill-in flash - maybe "use" the light a little more to dodge the steam and burn back the sky for a touch more drama

Re: days gone by
Aaaahhh! Mono AND a locomotive!
Relly nice shot here and I'll not only agree with Mark's comments, but also suggest a touch of increased contrast might be beneficial. I might use the white plate to set the white point before burning it, and would struggle to find a black point - maybe the corner where the boiler meets the cab? |

Re: days gone by
Agree about the sign I would get rid altogether but the rest is good also the white line down the platform wonder what it would be like without it (good idea for Health and Safety though)

Re: days gone by
Great perspective - smoke adds tot he feel of the shot. Yeah, burn that white sign - too distracting and it adds nothing to the shot.

Re: days gone by
As you have the edit image box showing, I had a go - hope you don't mind.
![]() White and black points set in levels as I suggested, new layer select sky and tweak levels again - flatten - burn white plate - dodge some of the steam and sky - sharpen. |
