Derwent-Water evening
This was taken at the same time as a shot I showed a few months ago but looking in a slightly different direction. I loved the colours that were adding to the sense of peace and tranquility on that lovely evening. I scrambled down a steep bank with my camera, tripod etc from the main road but felt sure there was something worth shooting and I wasn't disappointed.
Hope you like it. Cheers, Rob ps I have separated the name in the title as the profanity filter stops it otherwise ![]()

Re: Derwent-Water evening
A nice enough view but I've problems with the FG bushes where the lighting looks strange - as if there's light coming from behind you.
They make a good natural frame though!

Re: Derwent-Water evening
This is up in the Lake District water, looking from about a third of the way down the lake (Derwent.water) from Ashness. I can't remember the name of the town at the far end but I am sure Roger will know if he is about.
I remember it was a lousy grey day but cleared to this lovely calm evening - very nice of it to give me a break after the frustration of trying to get a decent shot of Ashness Bridge! I used to live at the northern end of the Lake District in a pretty little place called Bassenthwaite but I don't get back there anywhere near as much as I would like to. It's a long drive from here on the south coast so only really feasible on holiday, not for a weekend. Here's hoping for some peaceful landscape shots from the Vendee region of France where I am going for a 10 day holiday at the end of this month. If not, I shall just have to visit the largest vineyard in Europe which is in the region and 'sample' their wares ![]() Cheers, Rob |

Re: Derwent-Water evening
Well Water, I think the area I am going would meet most of your needs. The place we are staying is just outside St Gilles Croix de Vie, a pretty little harbour town by the sea. We are staying for the first two days in Nantes on the River Loire too so with the Loire and the beauitful coastline between St Gilles and L'Ile D'Yeu (small island just off the coast) I think you'd have plenty of water. Bearing in mind I now live by the sea here in Dorset, my love of the sea is undiminished and ever more shall be!
Cheers, Rob |
