Derwent Water Jetty
This was taken on a miserable early evening by Derwent Water. I added a touch of HDR to this one to give it a bit of a boost. it came out with a natural vignette but I have made that stronger as well as I felt it helped to push all the focus down the middle here. I originally tinted with a blue tone but felt this worked better.
See what you think anyway. Cheers, Rob ![]() |

Re: Derwent Water Jetty
Like it.Love the jetty and water especially.Does the sky need to be so dark?.I'd prefer it toned down a bit.Is it possible to see the original?.I'd like to see from where you arrived at this result.
PS:Just a thought but that lovely gold tinge on the jetty/nearest water would look wow toning the the whole image ![]() |

Re: Derwent Water Jetty
I wonder what others think on that score? I prefer the sky moody looking as it was on the day as it is a stark contrast to the water and jetty. I definitely see what you mean and I reckon it will probably be a 50/50 split as to which people prefer.
I used three shots to get this HDR effect so it isn't any one shot original as such Water. I agree about that tone though, I might try and adjust it so it comes out all over like that. I didn't want it to be too OTT though, I wanted to keep a sense of subtlety about that side of it so it didn't lose the mood if you get what I mean. Cheers for the comments, very helpful. Rob

Look forward to seeing it if you post another 'version',which is not to take away from the image presented here.I accidentally made a wet room Mono print that had a similar 'mysterious' quality to it.Alas it was a 6x4 print and I could never re-create that print ![]() ![]() |
