A Different Carina
This was our second shoot. She came to the shoot with her hair tied back again, and I suggested that she let it go. This created a much different, softer young lady. Although this image doesn't show it, her exuberance, youth, spirit and joy really came out in this series. Although, one could look at this image and think that her face was not a serious one, but was part of the campy image.
This is the shoot that only 70 of nearly 200 images were anywhere near in focus, and I was concerned that Carina and her mother would be angry about the low yield, but they were both very happy with the pics. I think that the focus still could have been sharper that what I have here, but you dance with the lady you came with (or something like that). Also, it loses a lot in the tremendous compression. The original jpeg was over 300K and I had to compress to 90 (sigh). skip

Re: A Different Carina
I like the image and the attitude in her facial expression there Skip. The only thing that doesn't suite for my taste (and that's all it is) is that she is a very slim girl and has 'very little up top' (not talking about her brains, a bit further down than that!) and this strong lean backwards actually accentuates that making her appear almost flat. I think her dress is a touch 'busy' for this scene but it does work ok.
I would like to see more of the 70 that are sharp enough here, I am sure you have further good ones in there. Cheers, Rob

Re: A Different Carina
sorry skip doesnt do anything for me , as my opinion the pose doesnt seem right as her head looks like it to far forward hence making it look to big for her body ,plus highlightens what she hasnt got ,i would go more like no shoes maybe hair not quite like shes just got out of bed.Especially knowing from the other photo she is a very attractive girl, love to see some of the other shots you took...Please dont be offended by my comments as it is only my opinion .

Re: A Different Carina
I am not offended. I have been nailed here too long
![]() It is exactly the pose that I wanted to contrast this slightly wild looking young woman with the farm image. And yes, it does emphasize her small chest, but I don't find that very important. skip |

Re: A Different Carina
Hope you don't mind, I did a little manipulation to try to address some of your own concerns. As it's showing compression artifacts I just added noise to hide them and then decided to go mono and play with the channel mixer so it looks like Ilford 3200 film. I'll delete it immediately if I've crossed a line in downloading it and having a go.

Re: A Different Carina
Sorry but I really don't go much on the grainy mono image, it is very dark and rather spoils her lovely skintones. I can see what you were trying to achieve but I don't feel it has improved what was there before.
