Lovely colour saturation. No sure about it overall though. The out of focus flower in the background dominates too much I think. :?
Although - the more I look at it, the more it grows on me. |

Hi dod.
As CT said, I love the colours and initially was not sure about it. That said, like CT, the more I look at it, the more it grows on me... table-leg - I think dod has deliberately made the yellow flower out of focus, using a wide aperture (small F number). This effect is referred to as depth of field (DOF)...have a look around the forums/on the internet and you'll find lots of info. It is often used, for example, to make the subject of a portrait stand out from t he background (the person is in focus and the background is blurred). Regards Chez |

I can see what you where trying to do here but I am not entirely sure that it would have worked even if the flash had illuminated the red tulip correctly.
The problem is that there are only really two focal points and one of those (the red tulip) is confusing as it’s’ form and focus doesn’t hold your attention. The yellow/orange tulip is quite visible in its shape and colour but is not recognisable on its own as a flower, this again confuses. I really don’t know how this shot would work in its current form, I do however applaud you for trying something different.
