Re: Driftwood

I like the well lit parts of the driftwood over the stones, but I keep going to the really dark spot at the top third of the image in the elbow of the wood.

I do like the stone as a backdrop for the wood. My father has a business involving the use of driftwood and this gives me some ideas for his catalog.

Re: Driftwood

I really like the contrasting organic and inorganic textures of the foreground but not the back ground of the boat, bushes and sky. Some of the stones on the right are burnt out due to the dark background effecting the exposure. I would have tried to move the log if that was possible. There is a great picture in there trying to get out.

Re: Driftwood

thanx guys, unfortunately this was an "art" display at a country park so there was no way i was going to be allowed to move anything, there was also a huge white van just tot he right of the boat, so i was somewhat limited in composition.

Re: Driftwood

I think this one was crying out for a wide aperture to blur that BG off and let the driftwood stand out strongly. I like the texture of the wood, really comes out well. Composition is good.

Good subject but have a look at blurring that BG off

Cheers,
Rob
