Dunblane Cathedral

well i decided to do another HDR but with a difference........ i specifically took the different exposures yesterday.... this is made up of 4 images, but once i had HDR'd it i wondered what it would look like in mono... result is........

be as harsh as you like, and im particularly interested in if you think this looks any different from a Lucisart image.

TIA

Re: Dunblane Cathedral

Looks good from here - good balance of light and shadow, so doesn't look as if it's been HDR'd!

Re: Dunblane Cathedral

I like it

My eye just keeps wandering up to the top R/H corner that looks a little soft and would have just tried to tilt the camera to the left (or moved a little to the left).....I know it's not easy in these places to get everything lined up.

I do like it Fi and it is my cup of tea!

Re: Dunblane Cathedral

Really nice shot, the processing on this is great....and the black and white works. Would like to see the colour version or at least some colour on that widow (don't know if you tried that) but the b/w does work and is very nice. Don't know the difference between lucas and photomatix, does lucas do hdr?....never tried it but not seen much from it that I like.
Great shot.
Ken.

Very good - I like it, and the tonal balance looks spot-on.

Re: Dunblane Cathedral

This is nice, and I have to say Fi, I prefer it a lot over your Lucis'd images, because this one doesn't look over sharpened, it looks natural, and the conversion is fantastic. Only thing that confuses me are the strange shadows running down the middle aisle...?

I Like This Fiona, Being A Big Fan Of B + W .
But I Am Inclined To Think It Would Look Better With Lucisart.

Re: Dunblane Cathedral

Beautiful tones Fiona, and again doesn't look HDR. If I had to be picky (as you asked ) I would have moved the camera slightly to the left to make it absolutely symetrical. Love the B&W, but again would be interested in the colour for the window.

Re: Dunblane Cathedral

Hi Fi

I agree. This is the type of image that would look great perfectly symmetrical.

It is good in that is doesn't look Lucisized, but does look a tad oversharpened.

I am curious....did you use a tripod for the multiple shots? I would think so.

cheers

skip
