Re: Dunseverick Harbour.

If you have read my reply in the other thread, you'll know I like this one. However, in the Crit Forum I have to say that there is a tiny niggle for me. There could be better seperation between the rocks in front of the boat and the far shoreline.

I'd still enter it in the competition though - and good luck with it

Re: Dunseverick Harbour.

Yep seen you comments Graham, see what you mean about the rocks to the other shoreline, what would cause that & how could it be fixed in camera if possible, just out of interest so id know to watch for that again.

Re: Dunseverick Harbour.

It would need a higher viewpoint or maybe a closer shooting position.

I suspect that in your situation, neither would be possible, and even if it were, you would then probably loose out on the composition.

I did say it was only a tiny niggle.

Re: Dunseverick Harbour.

I'd have rather gone to the place at the center of the image (where that arrow thing is), and taken a picture in the same direction but zoomed just a little more :-)

Re: Dunseverick Harbour.

There is maybe a little too much information. The exposure was probably too good for the image. It has all the lights and the dark areas giving details, and that maybe makes it a little more busy than it needs to be. If some of the rock areas were plunged into darkness then you wouldn't feel the need to want to look at them so much, and then you could focus on the scene as a whole rather than examining it at a closer level.
I think even a little vignetting would improve it.
Just out of interest, was it a subtle HDR or have you pulled out the shadows with blending or anything like this?

The shadows were pulled out lolyton, this is actually the way i,d seen it that night even at 10.30 pm, the air was crystal clear at that time & visibility was up to 19km, never seen it so good, could of touched Scotland.
