Hi all, this was another one shot at Duxford during the summer, it was a pretty good day weather wise but I decided to experiment a bit with this to see if I could get a more moody look from an otherwise average shot... I really like the result, does it work for others?
![]() Thanks for looking! Other shots from the day can be found here - http://www.pixalo.com/community/phot...per-18804.html http://www.pixalo.com/community/phot...tml#post162803

Re: Duxford : Black Hawk Down
Captured a great moment of drama there with a suitably dramatic backdrop, but I feel that there's a certain false enhancement
![]() Joined the two ends of the drama together and "evened out" those wonderful clouds. Gone a bit grainy but not sure that is necessarily bad {shrugs} |

Re: Duxford : Black Hawk Down
This is a weird one so I hope I can explain what I mean. I the technically Mark's picture is better but I prefer the first one!
The minimal lighting isolates the helicopter and the guy on the end of the rope without making an image of all the clouds and things. Yes, the clouds are lovely but they are not what this picture is about. The atmosphere is much stronger in the first. So, we'll call it even but Ian's is a bit more even <g> Cheers, Rob |

), and while I was very happy with it and liked it's almost newspaper war shot feel I just felt it may benefit by adding more drama to it which is why I pushed it further (and hence the movie related title ).So it looks like it's one each in the Drama vrs. Technical debate

Re: Duxford : Black Hawk Down
I am going to differ with my opinion and say that I like the first shot the best. Its dark, moody and makes you look. Personally since this is not being presented as 'reportage' I am happy with the processing Sonsey has applied too. You can't please everyone
![]() Its a very strong image |

Re: Duxford : Black Hawk Down
I agree with Steve, I like the first image best. I like that the picture is dark and moody. I really like this picture.
