Sun, rain, snow, whatever. Shot a lot this afternoon but this is best result. Would really like C&C

Overall I like it, but I would like to see a bit more of the foreground even though the sky is the main focus. Nice scene and colour. Thanks

Agree with Rosegold, more fg would be better depending if you could find suitable fg subject

Same position but different angle to show more of FG. Thanks for your suggestions
HDR image. 3 shots 2 stops either side of camera metering. AEB.
Convert to HDR in CS2. Levels, Sharpened

First one looks like the camera slipped while you were taking the shot

I like the 2nd one, and I think you've done the HDR treatment very well

There's too much sky IMO, and I'd crop it down to just above the top of the main mountain.

This 2nd shot has good composition, colours, detail, exposure, and DoF. Nice one Roger

Thanks Charlotte. You were not far wrong with the first shot. Experimenting with angle to get major sky and small land. We took a saturday afternoon to take advantage of the weather

I like both of these but agree the first one needs a touch more FG. I like the 2nd but some of the clouds are a bit burnt out. Not sure this really needed HDR treatment Roger, I think the first one is fine with the amount of FG in the 2nd

Lovely composition of a beautiful scene, well done

Very last post from me on this one. Thread seems to have revived after a long(ish) time.

A non HDR version. RAW conversion in Adobe, Unsharp Mask to reduce digital haze. Slight levels adjustment in feathered selection of sky and saved. OH a slight crop too.

Well Roger, I'm not sure how to tell you this, but this latest version looks more to me like an HDR image than your HDR version does

In your HDR version there was a lot of lost detail in both highlights + shadows (which defeats the object of HDR), whereas with this version all the detail is there!

One criticism ... I don't think you should've cropped it

It puts the horizon in the middle + loses a lot of that lovely cloud, which is now properly exposed in this version

Well done, you got there in the end

Edit: Looking at it again today, I like the crop after all

beautiful place!!!!!!! is wot i'd like to say!!!!....wonder if u'd have to travel a lot to visit such place for clicking!!,or is it jsut across the block!!
