Evening Light

Went down to the Barrage @ Cardiff Bay to take another shot of the circles Can you see circles in this?, Friday evening - but that lock gate is surrounded by scaffolding, so will have to await completion of the maintenance. The whole area is very photogenic, so never difficult to find something at which to point the camera.

This shot is of the flood gates used to control the water depth in the Bay (and empty it once a month). Haven't corrected the barrel distortion and did add a gradient to the sky. Would welcome any comments/suggestions - I live all of a couple hundred yards away, so easy enough to return for a reshoot

Canon 350D, Sigma 10-20mm @ 14mm, f16, 1/30, ISO100, AV, -1.0 Exp Comp, HandHeld

Re: Evening Light

I like that even if you cheated a bit!

The verticals seem to be leaning a little as you move to the right of the pic, but apart from that it looks just dandy.

Cheated? LOL! Gradient darkened the sky a little and gave the graduated blues

Yeah, did roate the left verticals to vertical but this threw out the right hand ones too much. So both ends tend to lean into the middle! Will try a barrel correction as I did take a slightly oversized shot, so there may be room to correct

Not much - the down side to Bayer and an antialias filter (you don't get this happening nearly so badly with Foveon! ). Full size, it's far less pronounced, so probably not noticeable on a print
