Re: Extreme DOF

I kinda like it Jack, but I would like to be able to read the word (since there is a word visible) as it's upside AND back to front Is this a mirror image, by any chance

Oh come on Charlotte, don't you know your guitar brands? Anyone could tell that is an Ibanez headstock. DUH.

, and no it's not mirrored, it's on a stand and I was looking down on it slightly to its left

Re: Extreme DOF

Sorry Jack didn't realise it was in the critique section

You got some extreme DOF with some interesting lines/shapes going out of focus

Can't make my mind up about the border

Re: Extreme DOF

Like the border idea - were Ibanez the people that made the double neck guitars?

Thanks, Ibanez are one of the guitar manufacturing giants, as in Fender, Gibson, ESP, etc. Ibanez is one of them. But they have made some pretty crazy guitars in their time, including a triple neck for Mr Steve Vai, and an electric / acoustic double neck for him too

Thanks for looking (again)!!!!

I love the shot---out of the ordinary, which are pictures I really like. Glad to know what it is (guitar) because looking at it I couldn't figure it out. Thats what makes it so interesting tho Should have kept it a secret

Thanks for the comments!
Lol, maybe, but apart from my camera it's my pride and joy and the other thing I show off about most (it's quite rare )

Re: Extreme DOF

Interesting idea but I think there's a little too much (a good candidate for 'less is more', I think!). There are definitely elements that I like (the strings and the lettering) but it all kind of breaks down with all the other components vying for attention. Worth pursuing (especially as it's your pride and joy!) maybe trying different lighting and at various DOFs!

Re: Extreme DOF

I think this shot is particularly of interest to those into guitars and things. I play the guitar and so immediately new it was Ibanez and as an abstract poster for someone like me, it works very well. I think it works best for those who don't need an explanation (not talking all the time, just in this case) but I like the feel of it very much.

Nice one Jack.

Thanks Rob, good to hear there are some guitar players on Pixalo Yeah I think you're right about the explanation, I guess I just assumed everyone knew Ibanez
