Re: The Eyes Have 'It'
I can't see the purpose of it. Is there some reason for the 'Rethink' logo? Why is she peeping out from behind whatever is hiding her face?
The eye is too dark, it's like one large pupil and no iris as it is virtually just black. The card is very light because of the mno conversion which is not really adding anything. If this is to be viewed by people to whom Rethink means something then perhaps it would have a bit more success. I think this kind of image does work and have seen many where they are full of impact but I think we need some sort of context within which to place her and whatever she's holding in order to get the story behind it all. Otherwise it remains a picture of a lady's eye and a bit of something with a picture on. Cheers, Rob

Re: The Eyes Have 'It'
Can't say it appeals to me either Jack, sorry.
The eyes may have "it" but we can only see one eye, so we only have half the story

Re: The Eyes Have 'It'
Ehhhh...
I'd disregard the previous comments. I like the photo because there is mystery behind that eye. What is she looking at? What is she hiding behind? What is she hiding from!? Her dark eyes adds to the mystery. Not every photo needs to follow the "rule of thirds"....etc. There is ALWAYS more to a photo than proper composition. Sweet pic. |

Re: The Eyes Have 'It'
I think you want C&C not on the image but on the Graphic Design, because if it's on the image, well the girl alone doesn't do anything for me, but the whole thing as a design depending what it's for, you did a good job.

Re: The Eyes Have 'It'
hmmmmmmm sorry it doesnt do anything for me either, my eye is instantly drawn to the white card? over her face NOT the face itself, maybe if there were less of it and more of the face?>
By the way i think its daft to disregard any comments on your photos, even negative ones have much to teach us! ![]() Fi |

Re: The Eyes Have 'It'
Jack, whether you intended it to be or not, it is a graphic design
![]() From what you say, I'm intrigued as to how you made the image ... did you take a photograph of a girl holding a piece of paper in front of her face? It looks as if you added the bottom white shape afterwards on pc (presumably what prompted Sotelo to use the term 'graphic design'). As for admitting that the "rethink" on the paper was a mistake, did you notice it before or after you uploaded it? And when you had noticed it, did you think "oh it doesn't matter, I'll show it anyway" or " hey that looks ok to show"? What do you think of the shot + what does it mean to you?

Re: The Eyes Have 'It'
I was trying to take normal pictures of her (
), and she held up the magazine in front of her face and I took the image. I then thought: Wow! Her eyes could be saying so many different things, like the Mona Lisa ( ), and then I saw the rethink when I went up close, and thought, it means "rethink the rules of photography to allow this big white shape", and thought I might try to enhance it, but then knew you'd all see it without me doing so.....

Re: The Eyes Have 'It'
There are few things more attractive than a woman being coy, shy, or teasing. That's what I thought when I saw this image and I like the concept and composition for that reason alone. I also agree with Rob regarding her eye - after all it is the single most important element of the image IMHO.

Re: The Eyes Have 'It'
I find the shot intriguing and interesting tho' I'd rather agree with the technical comments with respect to the eye and the expanse of paper.

Re: The Eyes Have 'It'
Not much point in putting pictures up for feedback if we disregard the comments Wicks! All comments are valid and we can all learn from each other, one of the great strengths of this forum.
Welcome to Pixalo, I am sure you'll get loads out of the various forum contents. It's a fascinating and educational place to be ![]() Cheers, Rob |
