Cheers Ian,
the feather was on a 'whitish' board and an external flash was bounced via a reflecter, the background was deliberately overexposed to white it out.

Some of the best shots are created when adverse conditions and boredom force us to really think about something to photograph.

Nice shot, well composed and exposed. Perhaps the only thing that I would do it to lighten the shadow.

Yup, I agree with the comments made, well composed and controlled. Just the shadow is a bit strong. Maybe add an angled reflector from the side to push a bit of light into the shadow areas.

Great stuff, well done.
