First Critique

It doesn't quite work for me JB. You have the horizon nicely on a 3rd line (not an intersection), and the road leads your eye into the shot nicely, but with no focal point of interest when you get there. There's a very nice range of tones displayed there, despite the fact it looks like quite a contrasty image, so top marks for the processing.
I'm sure the scene caught your eye due to being 'into the light' and the reflections from the water and shadows on the road were no doubt compelling, but I don't think it quite comes off as a picture. A lower viewpoint and some foreground interest might have made a big difference? ![]() |

had the same problem for a while.
Personaly (and this is by no means an expert opinion) I would have gone for a lower view point, probably lying on the road, as it would have made the road a much more dominant aspect of the photo. |

i think if the road led in from the right or left it might work better, but as CT says, it needs something to keep you looking once you get there.
The Processing is good as CT says also, so not a bad start at all! |
